Do I need to learn Chinese characters to use LinguaLive?
No. A voice conversation can begin without reading Chinese characters. Character study remains important for literacy, and LinguaLive does not prescribe one universal learning order.

Absolutely — tones are the biggest challenge for Mandarin learners, and LinguaLive provides real-time tone feedback during conversations. Practicing tones in context (real sentences) is far more effective than drilling individual tones in isolation.
